Its time to get verbose
Most of us have a fallback word, its usually an “um…” or a “like..”. We tend to say these words to buy some time in the middle of a sentence or two. I just found out that mine is “essentially” (my fiance’ pointed it out in the middle of a dinner one day!). Ive been conscientiously watching out for when I say it and comes up quite a lot during the day. Whether im trying to explain the architecture of some code || im giving a presentation || just talking to friends. I dont really have a problem with a fallback word, it just bothers me that I might say it out of context. Its time to get verbose….
